Dementia-Friendly Companionship in Send and Surrey Villages

Dementia-friendly companionship gives someone living with memory changes a calm, familiar face, steady routine and gentle reassurance at home.

How this support works

Anna can provide patient, unhurried visits that support everyday routine, conversation, drinks, meals, prompts, simple activities and family updates. The aim is to reduce isolation and help the person feel safer and more settled, while being clear when needs require a specialist or larger care provider.

One consistent local carer

Local Village Care is run by Anna, so families speak directly with the person providing the visit. Support is agreed in plain English before care starts.

This may suit

Someone living with early or moderate memory changes who responds well to a familiar person

Families worried about loneliness, routine, meals, drinks or day-to-day reassurance

Older people who benefit from calm conversation and gentle prompts

Adult children who want practical updates after visits

What visits can include

Consistent companionship from Anna rather than a changing rota

Gentle orientation around the day, routine, meals and drinks

Simple familiar activities, conversation or a short safe walk where agreed

Notes and family updates if Anna notices changes, concerns or missed routines

Not suitable for

  • Not specialist dementia nursing or clinical care
  • Not 24-hour supervision, live-in care or secure wandering-risk support
  • Not suitable where behaviour, medication, mobility or safety risks need a larger trained team
  • Not a replacement for GP, memory clinic, social care or emergency support

If the support needed is outside Anna's safe boundaries, she will say so and help you think about the right type of provider.

Questions families ask

Can a private carer help someone with dementia?

A private carer can often help with companionship, routine, reassurance, meals, drinks and family updates when the person is safe with visiting support. More complex dementia care may need a larger or specialist provider.

Is this the same as specialist dementia care?

No. Anna provides dementia-friendly companionship and practical home support, not clinical dementia care, nursing care, 24-hour supervision or secure wandering-risk support.

Will Anna tell family if something changes?

Yes. If Anna notices changes in mood, appetite, routine, safety, medication prompts or general wellbeing, she can record the concern and update the agreed family contact.
